Microchipping

What are your thoughts on microchipping your dogs? Is it worth it? Sounds painful!

I feel like if you live in a largely populated area microchipping would absolutely be worth it. It is the first things vets and animal control look for on an animal. Collars can be lost or taken off by a person. A microchip cannot

I went with the microchipping for a few reasons: 1. She's a husky and they have a tendency to go on adventures when opportunity presents itself. 2. She kept eating her collar which her tags were attached to. She tried eating the tags too but just managed to mangle them a little. 3. The area I live in is pretty populated and all of the local vets and shelter use the chip scanner when a dog is brought in. I felt it gave us the best chance of her being returned if we did get separated.

I don’t feel like it is. We do id tags that have a we code instead. I would feel bad putting them through the pain.
