My velvet loves ice cubes and if one drops on the floor she gobbles it up, I thought about putting some in her water but I guess I wont

Ice is ok for dogs. The only real concern is possibly choking or maybe breaking a tooth. There was a rumor on the internet a while back that ice cubes or ice water could kill them but that's not the whole truth. The rumor was based on a dog drinking too much water at once which caused bloat. Bloat can be fatal for dogs. It can occur when a dog quickly consumes a large amount of room temperature water, ice water, or even food. The other concern is cooling an overheated dog too fast. Again, an ice cube or a moderate amount of ice water is not a problem.
