How do you train your dog to drop their toy when you play fetch
Hi guys! So my dog doesn’t want to drop his toy when we play fetch. He want me to chase him and I don’t know how to train him to drop his toy when he runs back to me. Do you guys have any tips? What are some effective techniques for teaching a dog to "drop it" or "leave it"?

The most effective way we get our dog to drop her toy is to put your finger behind the toy and press lightly on her tongue, she would drop it instantly. We would then use the command "Leave it" so that she associates the words with dropping her toy

When my Husky actually brings the toy back to me (which is rare) I do like the previous comment mentioned and press the toy out of her mouth while saying "drop it". Most of the time she prefers to get sort of close to me with the toy and then run as fast as she can away so I'll chase her or she will just run as fast as she can with the toy right past me!
