Hi, I have a Shih Tzu as well! When grooming your Shih Tzu puppy, remember to be gentle and patient, use appropriate tools such as a slicker brush and comb, and establish a regular grooming routine to keep their coat clean and free of tangles :)

Go with her to the dog groomer and pay attention to the methods used and equipment so you can replicate at home. You may need to repeat this more than once also try more than one groomer.

Suggest you use something that buzzes near your dog. I used an old electric razor and slowly brought it closer to him as I rubbed him with the other hand. Over a week or so, he got used to the noise and the vibration as I rubbed him with the back side (not trying to trim his hair).
