What age do you switch from puppy food to adult food?
Laura Napier
It depends on the size of the breed. The general guideline is between 9 months for toy breeds to 24 months for the biggest breeds. Basically it's the time when the dog is done growing. Some are switched to adult food around the time when they are spayed / neutered.

The age at which you switch from puppy food to adult food can vary depending on the breed and individual dog. As a general guideline, most dogs can transition to adult food around 12 months of age. However, larger breeds may benefit from staying on puppy food a bit longer to support their growth and development. It's important to consult with your veterinarian to determine the right timing for your specific dog based on their breed, size, and overall health. They can provide personalized recommendations to ensure a smooth transition and meet your dog's nutritional needs as they mature :)
