Can’t get my puppy to sit
I have a 9 month old female chihuahua that I can't get to sit for a treat. If I can't get her to sit for a treat how am I going to get her to heel when training on a leash, granted she's very good on the leash. I've tried using her favorite treats and then trying to put it over her head and she just walks away and barks like she's afraid. I've tried standing in front of her to get her to sit and she just walks around me. The last thing I tried was to put her on my bed to make it higher up and still no go. Help!

I did training very similar to that. I would get down on my knee and apply gentle pressure to her above the tail. I would say sit at the same time. As soon as she sat, I would shower her with praise and give her the treat. After consistently practicing this, she sat on command pretty quickly.

Have you tried crouching so you're down on her level? perhaps she's intimidated as she is so small if you are standing? I taught mine by holding a treat just above their nose as this made them naturally look up and they'd sit down from there.
